BIO

PAINTER born in Aichi, Japan in 1992.

Mio spent her childhood in the United States, where she began tap/hip-hop dance and other forms of physical expression. As she grew older, she became aware of her synesthesia, and began painting out of a desire to see the visual colours associated with the sounds of her favorite bands.

Mio creates visual art informed by her synesthesia, in which sound, emotion, and colour are inherently intertwined. Rather than simply translating emotions or music into visuals, her practice draws inspiration from the structures of the world she lives in—human relationships, urban environments, and the underlying frameworks of society itself. Through abstract painting, she seeks to explore and express the connections between things, how they relate, and the broader systems that shape contemporary life.

With colour, music, and emotion inherently connected in her perception, Mio aims to create new sensory experiences that transcend conventional boundaries through visual expression.

1992年愛知県生まれのPAINTER/DANCR。
